It Costs approximately $58,000 to attract, train, and retain one nurse.

27% quit within 6 months of hire

Let's Change That.

Here's How

"I work with nursing leaders ready and motivated to build effective teams

that attract and retain quality nurses." - Karen Bennett, BSc, RN, Professional Coach

Why Coaching?

Great nurse leaders are rarely born, they are nurtured. They have usually learned from someone positively influential in their life or career, like a mentor or coach.  They are also the leaders that nurses want to stay and work with, and will even follow that leader to their next job if possible.

Unfortunately, with the current industry staffing crisis, and with leaders rapidly retiring, our new nurse leaders no longer have the luxury of learning along side a mentor to build those skills of leadership.  The dynamics of today's healthcare delivery mean new nurse leaders are expected to lead from day one, often without having built the critical thinking, emotional intelligence and leadership presence to be a inspiring leader that builds effective, well functioning teams.

Setting you up for Success

Coaching helps you as a  nurse leader build leadership presence. Coaching will provide a support to help create a plan, set goals, prioritize tasks, be focused, and communicate with your team more effectively, especially in those first 3-6 months of a new role.  Instead of being in a stressful sink or swim situation, coaching means you are supported and set up for success instead of failure. Coaching helps leaders develop emotional intelligence and critical thinking skills, vital for effective leadership. It can help you with communicating and managing change, handling difficult conversations and develop knowledge to empower and coach their teams to be motivated and effective.

Results

Coaching helps facilitate leaders to become effective and empowering, inspirational leaders that nurses want to stay to work with and learn from. Coaching also helps with establishing work life balance. This can be part of the solution to improving staff retention, delivering excellence in quality of patient/resident care, cutting the cost of hiring, and reducing burnout. And as an aspiring or new leader, you have the support to become one of those effective leaders, fuel your career and earning potential for your future and family.
